0.Conditions

The Time Machine Backup Service is available to all computer science and mathematics employees. To get this service please contact ITO at the email address support@ito.cit.tum.de. Be sure to include the following information:

2.Connect to Time Machine Backup Server

Click Connect to Server under Go in the Finder

Enter the server address and click on Connect

Enter the ITO credentials (also called cit.tum.de login) including the login name and the corresponding password

3.Time Machine configuration

Open the system settings

Click on Time Machine 

Click on Select Disk

Select Time Machine Backup Server - encryption can be enabled here if desired. A separate encryption password may be requested.

If you have previously used a different hard drive than Time Machine, you can decide here whether you want to continue using it or discard its settings. (Stand OS X 10.8) This way you can easily configure multiple backups in different locations.
