Mount a Network Drive (Shared Folder)

1. ITO network drive (only for CIT members ) connection in Windows

Note: If the project folder is not shared with you, you will not have access to this folder, and you will get a warning stating that the username or password is wrong.

1.1. In Windows

Note: If your computer is in the NASRBG or CITDS domain, the server's name should appear before the username, for example: rbgvm35/mustermamuss along with the CIT-Password.

Note: Check that your computer is connected to the university network/is connected to Open VPN. Otherwise, access to the network drives could be denied

To open Explorer, click on the folder symbol.

Click on Dieser PC and then on Computer on top of the window.

Then click on Netzlaufwerk verbinden.

Type in the name of your server in the field Ordner, check the same cases as shown in the screenshot an then click on Fertig Stellen.

Enter your CIT username and password, check the case of Anmeldedaten speichern, and finally click on OK.

If somehow this did not work, type in as username \\nasito\[Login-Name] or \\nasito.cit.tum.de\[Login-Name] \\nasito\musterma or  \\nasito@cit.tum.de\musterma).

1.2. In Mac OS x

Click on Gehe zu top of the page and choose Mit Server verbinden.

Type in the path of the shared folder in the first field then click on Verbinden.

Type in CIT Username and your CIT Password and click on Verbinden.

1.3. In Linux

Click on Browse Network

Give  smb:// the path of the shared folder.

Choose Registrierter User in the opened window.

Type in afterwards your CIT Username and your CIT Password and click on Verbinden (Connect).

After this step go to the shared folder.

2. Network drive \\nas.ads.mwn.de\LRZ-Username connection

2.1. In Windows

Click on the Folder Symbol, to open the Explorer.

Choose Dieser PC on the left.

Choose in the menu Computer -> Networkdrive verbinden.

2.1.1. Personal Network drive

You can find your network drive here \\nas.ads.mwn.de\LRZ-Username.

Type in ADS\LRZ-Username and your TUM-online password and click on OK. You can save your login data, in order not to repeat it every time.

2.1.2. Project-Network drive:

Note: When the project folder is not open for you, you have no access to it and you can get a warning that your username of password is incorrect.

You can find the accessible project folder of NAS for example in the path \\nas.ads.mwn.de\tus1130\test_ito, after clicking on Fertig stellen.

Type in after the domain name ADS your LRZ-Username then click on OK.

2.2. In Mac OS X

2.1.1. Personal Network drive

Your network drive is in the path \\nas.ads.mwn.de\LRZ-Username.
